HOW IT WORKS

No two farms are the same

Two farms with the same rainfall can hold wildly different amounts of it, depending on slope, soil and where water is allowed to gather. We listen to the land first, then work in the order it sets: landform, then hydrology, then what the ground can carry.

STEP ONE

Read the landform

Catchments, keylines and slope from elevation data. Landform first; it decides where everything else can go.

STEP TWO

Model the water

Runoff, infiltration and where it leaves. Then what the crops, stock and household actually draw, month by month.

STEP THREE

Place the works

Dams, swales and channels sized against the catchment feeding each one, with volumes, costs and a build order.
